Silvery Scale

The silvery scale seen on many psoriasis plaques is simply a buildup of dead skin cells that haven't shed normally because they're being produced so quickly. Its flaky, whitish-silver look is one of the more recognisable features doctors check for. Gently removing it can sometimes reveal characteristic pinpoint bleeding underneath.
